hmm, it could be the sever which is causing it to be slow, often overcrowding of account is the cause, also free severs are like waiting for next year. Also, errors cause the code to be slow, remove ALL sprintf

If you really wish to make you're game faster..

Remove all $db->, Use Mysql_
Remove all silly functions like sprint
Use CSS instead off images
Find a decent server
Index your database correctly.
Try and use $ir as less as possible
